Cluj-Napoca Multicultural Festival

The project

Cluj-Napoca Multicultural Festival is an annual celebration of the diversity intended to educate, impact upon and promote mutual understanding. The activities promote and engage intercultural dialogue, improve mutual understanding, communication, and cooperation among people from different cultures and combat stereotypes and prejudices. Together, the local and migrant communities present their cultures and traditions in the form of dance, music, art, costumes, and food. The first edition of the event was organized in 2012 and bought together representatives of 12 countries and migrants who are citizens of Cluj-Napoca.  

In 2015 the Multicultural Festival was included in the Days of Cluj event organized on annually basis by the Municipality and its partners (e.g. private sector, NGOs, academia, etc.). In 2019 the number of participants to the event that was organized in four consecutive days, reached 300.000 persons.

Facilitate the mutual understanding of all communities living in Cluj-Napoca and promote the benefits of diversity.
