Practices Labour inclusion

Employment agreement

Identify job opportunities in case that the employment contract of TCNs comes to an end.

The project

The main objective of this initiative is to support Third Country Nationals legally residing in Romania to identify job opportunities in case that the employment contract comes to an end. As per the applicable legal framework in this area, the TCNs who are in Romania for work purpose have 90 days to identify a new employer at the end of their contract/if they resign/their contract is terminated.

Furthermore, the project was particularly significant during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the number of TCNs who remained unemployed and the risks associated to their situation raised (e.g. difficulties in ensuring their basic needs, limited possibilities of returning in their countries of origins).

The impact of the good practice

The project aims to provide a lasting and sustainable solution for TCNs who want to continue working in Romania.
