MyRO

Regional network for migrant integration in Romania

The project

The overall objective of the Regional network for migrant integration in Romania – MyRO is to contribute to and enhance the socio-economic integration of migrants (beneficiaries of international protection (BIPs) and other third-country nationals (TCNs)) residing in Region 6 (Giurgiu, Calarasi, Ialomita, Teleorman, Olt and Dolj) into the Romanian society, through needs-based integrated assistance provision.

In the framework of this initiative IOM has developed and will be piloting an educational resource package with two tools: (a) a Romanian language course Supporting Notes and (b) a conversation guide. Both were developed considering the language skill levels (e.g., beginner level A1- A2.1, intermediate A2.2 – B1.1). The conversation guide is accompanied by an audio guide meant to support the beneficiaries during the learning process.

The impact of the good practice

The project aims to support the migrant in their integration process as the access to education and learning the language of the receiving community is a steppingstone for ensuring the socio-economic cohesion of the society.
